Pre-employment laboratory tests

The minimum laboratory medical examinations to be carried out in the pre-employment medical examination, taking into account their age, occupational risks and other factors of the workers, will be:

To all

 

  • Complete Physical Examination.

  • Complete blood count (CBC).

  • General Urine Test (EGO).

  • General Stool Examination (EGH).

  • VDRL/RPR.

Workers who will be exposed to chemicals

Add:

  • Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase

  • Spirometry.

To workers who will be exposed to noise
 

Add:

  • otoscopy

  • Audiometry

To workers who will be exposed to intense work

​Add:

  • Physical exam.

  • Vertebral Column Radiography.

  • Electrocardiogram (Load Lifting greater than 70 lbs/32 Kg.).

  • Rheumatoid Factor (Extreme Temperature).

40 years or older

  • Lipid profile

  • Electrocardiogram

To workers who are exposed to levels above 85 dB (A)

Add:

  • otoscopy

  • pure tone audiometry

To workers who will be exposed to intense work

  • Vertebral Column Radiography.

  • Electrocardiogram (Load Lifting greater than 70 lbs/32 Kg.).

To workers of the Administrative Area: Managers, Vice Managers, Secretaries, Accountants, Drivers, Computer Operators, etc. and production personnel: Welders, Operators and any other worker who require good visual acuity, the following will be carried out:

 

  • Visual acuity.

Workers exposed to organic or inorganic dust.

Add:

  • Anteroposterior and lateral chest X-ray.

  • Spirometry.

Workers exposed to chemicals
 

Add:

To workers exposed to solvent substances (in any state).

  • Visual acuity

  • Rheumatoid factor

Workers exposed to vibrations
 

Add:

  • Audiometry

  • X-ray - ulnar, elbow, hand

Workers who work in unhealthy environments or contaminated water

Add:

  • skin exam

  • Leptospira Test

  • Pharyngeal exudate

To garbage collection operators
 

Add:

  • Dermal exam (Fungi)

  • leptospira test

  • Pharyngeal exudate

Article 19. Periodic Medical Examination. The periodic medical examination will be mandatory for each and every one of the workers of the work centers who have completed 90 days or more of working continuously in a specific job.

Important

Workers who, due to their specific activity, are not contemplated in this Standard, will be given their medical examinations according to the risks and medical criteria and/or those of the General Directorate of Hygiene and Safety of the Ministry of Labor or the General Management. of Labor Risks of the Nicaraguan Institute of Social Security
